TRI - a multifunctional table
TRI is the result of addressing numerous functional needs in the home. This multifunctional table is a series of three useful objects that can either be used separately or together, with each unit having a different use. These range from seats to storage and steps to tabletops. They work as part of a furniture family, speaking the same language and fitting together when needed, but then with the ability of working alone around the house if required. An exposed ply edge runs throughout each piece like a geometric, timber river with durable white laminate and soft orange linoleum to highlight this. These visible elements generate a connection between the pieces even when they are apart. The smooth return of each component together was important, but I designed each piece to stand-alone and strong, so that housing them together is effortless but not a necessity.
